Welcome To TeamFreedomIL
Hello
My name is Jasmine Collins Y36801 and I am an individual in custody here at Logan Correctional Center alone with my dear friend Sharonda Miller. To whom ever this may concern I will be writing this letter about Ms. Miller. She is such an amazing person and very encouraging as well to stay motivated, focused on the bigger picture (which is our future and freedom) and as positive as anyone I’ve ever met. Especially with her having done the time she has over these years and still remain humble and determined. That’s not only her personality but that’s her passion, which also makes her so respected, alive and brilliant.
TeamFreedomIL started off as a seed and blossomed into something beautiful off of the power of ambitiousness and honesty. Women fighting for their freedom who was young, uneducated on the law and wrongfully convicted. Someone who self-taught themselves and shared it with others seeking knowledge and the same with TeamFreedomIL. Ms. Miller is excellent and there isn’t any other words to describe her differently. From who she is and what she is fighting for … she can relate in a way no one can. Truly because she is us and we are her. #TeamFreedomIL
Sincerely
Jamise Collins

Hello,
My name is Lakeisha Cunningham, I am inspired to write about ebony and others that hold great value in Logan Correctional Center. A Majority of the women in here are not isolated incidents. I have a gigantic family out in the world, eight children, twelve grandchildren whom I thought that I would just heave to give up on considering the circumstances of the system. I thank god for women like Ebony and her fellowship friends that came along seem us down and picked us up. Ebony give inspiration to inspire women to get up and to think better. Ebony Spirit showed me that we are not in jail, we are incarcerated and we can rehabilitate ourselves and make a change for our families and for ourselves.
Ebony help me with my case not only did she see the flaws in my case that the system overlooked and neglected. The pertinent facts were typed in a Post-Conviction, thanks to Ebony I have a start at peace and Justice. A light that shine at the end of this tunnel that is dark on this walk of Journey right now. Thank you Ebony
Hi my name is Deanna Ferrari, I just want to say thank you and I am grateful that you represent and advocate for us who are locked up and been locked up for along time. Without TeamFreedomIL I would be here stuck trying to figure this out on my own and what to do. So, again I am very thankful and grateful to TeamFreedomIL for what you are doing.

After losing my appeal in May 2020 with a high paid lawyer I lost faith in trying to get some type of early release. My father is where I go to in times of crisis and the main person who has tried to help me get home in July of 2020. He passed away from a short fight with cancer, on of my last phone conversations with him was that I’ll keep fighting to come home don’t worry about me that I;s okay to let go. With no clue what to do or where to start I finally went to the name that ringsbells in Logan for legal advice.
In August 2021 I got in contact with Shay, she got my transcripts and less then a month later she had my Post Conviction ready to mail. Two months later the judge accepted me to the 2nd level and agreed with my petition that it was very poor evidence to convict me. Something Shay never seen a Judge do from the start. I am still in court and fighting for my release. Without Shay’s knowledge I don’t think I would have made it to court or have any hope. I now have a positive outlook for my future thanks to Shay’s hard work and dedication she put into my case.

Hello my name is Shandra Kidd and I am writing this letter with a lot of respect for TeamFreedomIL Founders (Sharonda Miller, Latrice Burns and Ebonie Burnside). These ladies are phenumonial in many ways, they pave the way for me and so many others. They are my role models. They have helped me be the better me, I’m a mature person. I’m not perfect, I’m still a work in progress. I have come a very long way though, they have helped me with legal work, they have gave me hope that a second chance will happen, truth in sentencing laws will be turned around to something better. They have pushed for everyone to be treated fairly, they fought not only for justice for me and for themselves they fought … They fought so that all could experience “JUSTICE” and they are still fighting. TeamFreedomIL is everything.
